JVC Wiring Harness Color Code

When it comes to aftermarket car radios, JVC is one of the top five brands.

It means that their radios are one of the first ones car owners consider when replacing the factory radio.

During installation, the main thing you should pay attention to is the color code of the wires.

Unlike OEM radios, 3rd-party radios come with somewhat similar color codes. For example, most of them will have the left-front positive speaker wire colored White and the left-front positive negative wire colored White/Black. And the same goes for the remaining speaker wire.

But other wires (illumination wire, amp turn-on wire, power antenna wire, etc.) may have different colors across different radios. To help you out, we have published this post about JVC radio wiring color codes.

There are two main types of such radios:

  1. KD series. These are simple button-based single-din head units.
  2. KW series. These are more expensive double-din head units with a larger touchscreen display and different advanced-level features.

We have included radios from both of these types. If you’re still confused, it’s better to check your installation manual or test these wires through a multimeter.
