The speaker was loud, for sure. However, the sound quality was awful, to say the least, as the subwoofer sensitivity was only 80 dB.  I learned quickly that anything below 84 dB is a bad choice for those looking for excellent sound quality.

In essence, the lower the frequency range, the better and the deeper the bass, which means that the 28.6 Hz is sure to make some much-appreciated noise.

The cone is made of durable fiber-reinforced non-pressed paper, which increases the efficiency of the speaker, making it louder without actually needing more power.

What improves its performance even further is the thick foam surround and the paper dust cap that can boost performance even with a lower amp.

The KICKER’s box is nicely vented, and from what I can tell, the air can move freely and help with heat management to keep the sub working well in all environments.

Of course, to ensure proper venting, you need quite a lot of space, so these subwoofers are sizable. Make sure you have enough room in your car to install them!

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the KICKER 43C154. Despite the seemingly poorer specs, it performs almost as well as some of the strongest competitors on this list.

It boasts better sound quality than expected, strong bass, and a great listening experience.

High and low tones are crystal clear, satisfying even the staunchest of critics. Every audiophile needs a sub like this in their car.

Whether you’re playing techno, dubstep, rap, or even classical, every tune will be nothing short of perfect as the sub boasts a frequency response range of 20 Hz – 250 Hz.

This EVL features 3-inch high-temperature voice coil, which is pretty important if you’re going on a long drive.
